We Mind 2019
We Mind is a dance film, created in collaboration with the Rambert Dance School in London. It stems from a need to give voice and expression to mental health issue, drawing from personal experience and addressing the prevalent prejudices and taboos associated with it, particularly among young people.
The film wants to explore the potential of dance and choreography in order to reveal an invisible health condition
In the film, the performers reenact mood disorders such as social anxiety, depression, bipolar, and others solely through choreographic movements. They are situated within a sterile, almost clinical room, each filmed individually, isolated in their bodily expressions, enclosed within a tightly framed shot that conveys a sense of claustrophobia. Only towards the end does the frame open up, and all their bodies come together, starting to fall as if to free themselves from the pain.
