Souls of the Island 2023
Souls of the Island is an experimental autobiographic short film that combines the language of documentary and a theatrical approach. It takes the shape of journey of reconnection with homeland and the local community. I like to describe the film as an experimental and poetic documentary, blending the spontaneity of rediscovering memories of childhood in these places with a performed set of movements.
The film is a reflection on all those young people that have never abandoned their roots and have chosen to dedicate their lives to artisanal work to preserve those ancient traditions that are disappearing against a backdrop of technology advancement
